Back to Work!

We have been going 100 miles an hour since we returned.  We taught the balance of the two courses that were postponed for the measles epidemic.  We have taught a solid 4 hours per day since we arrived back.  We just finished those courses in the midst of the pre-service training for the schools here with which we participated in.  We taught a workshop on classroom management which served as a seminar for our 9 upcoming student teachers.  We will observe those nine teachers this coming week as they start off their classes and establish their rules and procedures.

Saturday, we picked up Elder and Sister Bearce at the airport and have been getting them into their apartment and acclimatized to their surroundings.  That will continue tomorrow as we introduce them to the teachers and the student during their opening assembly.  It is great to have another senior missionary couple at the school.  They have previously served in Tonga in the same assignment (TVET).

We are presenting a fireside tonight to the young single adults in our ward on setting goals.  We will present the Covey plan of mission, vision, and values but they specifically mentioned that they would like to see how Janice set a goal to get married and even listed her possible candidates.  I am fortunate that I made that list!

We will get back into the swing of things this coming week complete with pictures.  We are grateful to have visited our family and love them to death.  We must admit however that as we were waiting for our plane in Hawaii and started to see Samoans gathering at our gate, we said to ourselves, "These are our people."  We are excited to be back and are rolling up our sleeves to finish up the teachers who need ITEP certificates.  We are not sure if it is accurate or not but one of the administrators from the area office said that this may be be largest group getting their certificates all at once in the history of ITEP.  Regardless of the notoriety of the event, we are excited to see the growth and the improvement in teaching that accompanies successful completion of the ITEP process.
